BACS19758 Problem with globalization is the fact that although it has been in existence over centuries, the proliferation of mass communication powere by technology, gave it a bigger platform for the effects to be felt and seen on a bigger scale.

Globalization has been in existence for centuries, it wasn’t seen much then because the technologies used now wasn’t there then and so it makes it look new to people but in the sense it has been there for many centuries. BACS191208

Globalization has only benefitted some countries and leaving majority behind. Most developed countries are taking advantage of the less developed ones and exploiting their resources. BACS191009

Globalisation has been in existence for long but most countries are so naive the importance of going global. And I'm referring to international trade. Now the backbone of Ghana's economy is cocoa. We export 70% of cocoa to overseas and 30% is processed in the country. And we are enjoying this benefit because, globally Ghana's cocoa is premium quality. BACS 19790

Transnational companies have been labelled as a source of globalization as well as dictating policies to their governments (developed countries) to enforce in other countries mostly developing countries.

This document examined the relationship between developing countries and developed countries and attributed underdevelopment within developing countries to unfair trade agreements.

Could we examine the relationship between developing countries to understand how a borderless Africa will promote economic growth among them.

I have heard the word globalization on several occasions but this course has opened my knowledge to several things I never knew. As a matter of fact globalization has come to stay whether we understand, accept, or disagree with it so just like the ideology of the proponents it is better “we make the best out of it” so that the needed development we need as people, communities and country at large can be achieved.

The connection between developing countries and developed countries was analyzed and highlighting the school of thought that underdevelopment within developing countries is due to unfair terms of trade. Which highly true. And dates back even into the days of the barter trade system!

It is argued that the IMF/World Bank is in business to make money and just like any bank, loans are given out at an interest rate. I do not disagree with this opinion at all, but I have a problem when in the course of giving out these loans TNCS provided by these bodies do not favour us (the Africans). We may blame our leaders as having contributed to this phenomenon, but fundamentally these institutions always have another agenda. Let’s take a look at how our local banks work here... A client who needs a loan visits a bank for a facility, now what the bank then does is to access the client’s business to ensure the business is viable enough to generate money and service the loan. What they do not do is to propose what business the client should do or invest in if he/she has to take the loan. so the question is, why does IMF/World bank do this to us? Why do they specifically tell us exactly what to use the money for and how to use it? Why do they determine who (in the case of construction) the contract should be awarded to?
Food for thought.

Even though globalisation has been in existence for ages, it rather benefited other countries leaving others to struggle the more.

GLOBALIZATION IS HERE TO STAY THEREFORE IT IS WISE FOR US (AFRICANS) TO USE IT IN A MEANINGFULL MANNER TO GROW RATHER THAN FINDING PROBLEMS WITH IT.BACS191018

Globalization has become an ideology and of course, ideas cannot be killed. It'll continue to expand and take new dynamics. Africans must find their unique space in globalization, harness that, to improve its community folks.

BACS191001 Globalisation is a win-win situation in the long run

BACS191174 said...

Globalization is more like neo colonization as it benefits the ideologies behind it more than those who are given the ideologies. In the long run, it benefits the powers that be, corporatocrats etc., capitalist, bourgeoises or however you want to call them. Globalization is imposing ones ideologies on other subordinates which can be in form of education, religion, agriculture, media and media contents.

Globalisation is the new form of colonizing developing countries and it impact has been seen vividly where major developed countries impose indirectly on developing countries in the name of did, through international polices, in regard of their own interest in view.
It high time developing countries, make s stand in what to accept from develop countries in the challenges of it financial and technological resources. BACS191012

The mention of the word 'globalization' sounds rocket science however from the study, it only seeks to remove all national barriers to a free movement of international capital and this is mostly accelerated and facilitated by high levels of transformations most especially information technology.one cannot dispute the fact that the concept deals with increasing breakdown of trade barriers and the increasing of world markets.
For instance
In my comfort here in Ghana, I'm able to speak to a group of young people at a conference through Skype etc to get paid from neighbouring Nigeria.

From the material, it can be concluded that globalization has come to stay. So the question is, what will be its impact on Africa in a few years to come? In as much as globalization carries a number of negatives along with it, no country now can survive without associating itself with it. As a result, the developing countries need to coin a strategy to benefit from this phenomenon in terms of trade, culture and the likes. African leaders must therefore start making preparations for Africa in the next few years so as to make Africa a leading continent like the others. There is the need to grab the opportunities that come along with globalization however we must also prepare to embrace the downfalls associated with it.

Globalisation has brought about the changing dynamics of technology in today's world
20 years ago,you couldnt talk to strangers.Today, you pay them to get into their cars, sleep in their houses and have them deliver food to your doorstep.Uber ,Air bnb and Jumia foods have all been materialised due to the existence of globalisation
