In terms of geographical distance, our modern social media contribute greatly to the fact that the world we inhabit is getting smaller by the day. Thus, information can be sent from one corner of the world to a different corner within seconds.

Although the assumption is that media representation is becoming more realistic yet media reflection is still the order of the day.Violent contents, inappropriate contents that inhibit good moral standards is still what is portrayed in the media.Unfortunately even though the media is there to guide us in building self identity, because of its reflections of the world people tend to look down upon themselves as a result of wrong acts they are indulged in.Media representations should be stepped up and overthrow the impact of divergent reflection of cultural norms and social structures so as to make everyone build self identity.

Through the media, the world has now become a smaller place. The interaction between nations has become possible due to the media thereby closing the gap between individuals and countries in terms of trade.

Media representation and media reflections are both real. What matters is to be able strike the difference between the two. A confusion of both concepts leads to acceptance of adverse forms of culture and that disturbs the stability of society to very large extent.

The media and society have a symbiotic relationship, society depends on the media for its shaped realities whilst the media mirrors what actually exist in society. However, the media's power cannot be overemphasized in influencing the very perceptions of existing ideas by either reinforcing them or eliminating them

The media is very powerful and have the tendency to to constituting peoples realities. For this reason they can make and unmake people. With them reflecting what is seen societies through movies, songs, books, and ads I would say is still representation. I think the media increases tension in the society with their representation of some people. And also they increase the violent nature of people and the discrimination against some religion when they continue to relect these in movies and musics.

It is important to note that these media reflections exist in real society. However, the Media products (adverts, music and movies) have either exaggerated or contorted some realities of the society, whic has in the long run affected how certain groups of people are perceived. It has enabled and intensified prejudices, which shouldn't be so.

The media is now mirroring the society by focusing on what is already happening and presenting it to us a modified way. They focus on what is happening globally and locally to satisfy our demand.

The media indeed is the reflection of the society in general. The media depends on the society just the society depends on the media. The interrelational relationship between the two parties makes each other thrive whereas the media gets revenue from society for what they share, the society as well gets info from the media.

Society depends on the media for information and the media also depends on the society to gather information. Without society there's no media.

Media reflection of the society is gradually being accepted as reality as people get exposed to media content which sometimes are false illusion.

The media has compress societies and individuals. Thus, making inviduals to percieve people, nations and countries more closer than imagined. Society and the media are interrelated. The media depends on the society for content whereas the society also depends on the media for information. In as much as the media portrays some level of reality, sometimes the perceived reality is not what it seem to be. However,Media reflection sometimes gives misrepresentation of issues, places, individuals etc.It is an issue that need to be keenly adress.

In view that the media is powerful one has to also know that it is the society that make it as powerful as it is because if the society refuse to purchase what the media sells to them(media content) then they end up losing their agenda

Media in a society reflects happenings in society whereas society depends heavily on media to for factions which eventually leads to stereotyping.Media representations usually leads to the exclusion and inclusion of certain individuals in society. The racial division and inclusion, religious inclusion and exclusion are a few that are predominantly represented in the media. Its about time individuals in society explore and accept their individuality and stop being affected by what society says is and what is not.

It is sad how the western media portrays a positive image of themselves while making Africans as inferior. Africans can however take advantage of the media to portray a positive image of themselves too. Then there will be balance in the representations we see. I feel the media has a lot to offer us if and only if we understand how it works and be ready to delve into it.

The media is good alright but it is equally bad. When it is unable to accurately inform the public like it is supposed to, it fuels further confusion or hate among societies. For example the way the American media massages both headlines and content of cases like school shootings by a white boy versus the way they report crimes committed by black men. These are equally crimes in the eyes of the law but the kind of representation does not make it easier for these groups of people to live among each other.

An example of the studues about the perception of media bias being largely the result of one's ideological stance rather than objective content analysis is how the western media portray Africa. A local example is how media institutions who are politically affiliated present and analyse their content.

The relationship between society and the media is symbiotic.Society depends on the media for information while the media depends on society for content.Too much foreign content means appropriation of foreign culture and losing one's self.

Its about time, upcoming journalists like us think of ways to differentiate between what society thinks or perceives and what the real deal is. Society is inclined to what happens around us as and when however, we must not base our final verdicts and decisions on what society perceieves as "right" when its not. A clear indication is Stonebwyoy pulling out a gun at the VGMA's, most will go in for the motion that, it was as a result of self-defense however, the lives of innocent people including a few children at the venue were at risk had the gun gone off mistakenly.
